Earlier this Summer we went on a Saturday excursion out to Dinosaur National Monument, which is about a 30 minute drive from Vernal. What a cool place! Most of these pictures are taken at the quarry, which are dinosaur fossils that have been left in place in the side of a mountain. They've built a structure around the mountain, so that visitors can come and see them in their original position. It's awesome! It'd be a fun place to take the nephews someday when the time permits... Grant and Jennie :-)
The Green River flows through the monument, and I've pictured that below. Lots of fishermen line the banks, and there are whitewater rafting tours on areas with more rapids. We will be taking advantage of that later this summer... It's a beautiful area!
